Wacky Weedeating: #1 on Google in about 3 months. Rivals had 14+ years and 5x the reviews.
The situation
Sonora is a small market with strong, older rivals. The top ones on Google had 14+ years in business and over 100 five-star reviews, five times as many as Wacky Weedeating. Wacky Weedeating had crews and good work. It also had growing Facebook ad bills: tens of thousands a year.
Marketing budget for the site: a few hundred dollars a month. No agency. No ads behind the site.
What was built
- A new site, live in April 2026. One page for every service, 19 service pages in all: brush clearing, weed abatement, defensible space, fire breaks, poison oak and star thistle removal, land clearing, junk removal, storm cleanup and more. Town pages for the places it works most, plus a service area page.
- Weekly SEO and GEO articles from real jobs. GEO means showing up in AI search. Each is built so Google and AI can quote it. Four a month, every month.
- A Google Business Profile tuned up until it ranked #1 in the map pack. That is the map with three businesses at the top of Google.
- One number to call and one form, on every page. Nothing else to click.
How fast it moved
- Month 2Above rivals with 14+ years and five times the reviews.
- Month 3#1 for weed abatement, weed eating and weed whacking.
- Month 4#1 for brush clearing.
- Month 6About 70% of all leads from the site. Customers citing ChatGPT and Gemini.

What's next
Pages for more towns. Feeder sites for the two biggest services. Those are small side sites that point to the main one. And tracking AI search, not just Google rank. The numbers on this page update monthly.
